Confirmed Ebola virus cases near 600 as outbreak in Democratic Republic of Congo grows

In short: 

The number of confirmed cases in the ongoing Ebola virus outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda is approaching 600. 

Authorities on the ground say contact tracing in the worst-affected regions is sitting at just 64 per cent. 

What's next? 

Health officials are working to develop a vaccine for the Bundibugyo form of the virus, which currently has none available.
