Speaking in Cairns, Queensland Health Minister Tim Nicholls said all employees were entitled to respect.
"I would simply say that all employees, whether they work for the LNP or media organisations or anyone else, are entitled to respect and obviously the protection of the law, and are entitled to go to work and go home from work safely," he said.
Minister for Local Government Ann Leahy said: "Individuals who wish to provide information may do so through the appropriate agencies."

"Now that the police have advised that it's under investigation that's about all I can say on the matter."
