Poland's Maja Chwalińska has beaten Diana Shnaider to become the first qualifier in the Open Era to reach the final at Roland Garros.

It is only Chwalińska's third time in the main draw of a grand slam tournament.

She will face eighth-seeded Russian Mirra Andreeva after the 19-year-old beat Marta Kostyuk 6-1, 6-3 in their semifinal.
