Queensland State of Origin player Reece Walsh pumps his fist to a crowd in celebration during a football match

Program: Old Origin rivalry, new Origin era, as coaches embrace disruption

Space to play or pause, M to mute, left and right arrows to seek, up and down arrows for volume.

Big name shocks. Debutants. Coaching stakes. Those are the three themes emanating from the NSW and Queensland squads for game one. Reece Walsh is the biggest star in the game, but there's no room for him in the Maroons squad. James Tedesco is back in blue for NSW. Both groups are littered with new faces readying for their Origin debut, and the evolution probably speaks loudest about NSW coach Laurie Daley.
