A man signs a rugby league contract with an expansion team

Program: If the PNG Chiefs can sign Jarome Luai, is anyone off limits?

Space to play or pause, M to mute, left and right arrows to seek, up and down arrows for volume.

Jarome Luai is the first PNG Chief. The expansion team has landed its first official signing and it’s a big one. Luai has been instrumental in rebuilding the Wests Tigers into a team that could play finals in 2026, but now faces an 18-month goodbye before he joins the Chiefs in 2028. The PNG side has tax-free money to spend on players and for some that money would be lifechanging. Luai was one of the loudest critics when Lachlan Galvin left the Tigers last season, how does this departure differ?
