In short:

A Queensland council says the number of dangerous, menacing and restricted dogs it has euthanased has increased following changes to the state's animal management laws.

Last year, there were more dogs euthanased by the local government on the Sunshine Coast than in Brisbane, mostly due to aggression, temperament and attacks.

The increase comes amid a spate of serious dog attacks in recent years.
