In short:

A Korean-born Australian who was sexually assaulted growing up is calling for changes to adoption laws after struggling to remove her adoptive parents from her birth certificate.

The NSW woman is one of 3,600 adoptees brought to Australia by a Korean agency, which is now under global scrutiny.

What's next?

The ABC can exclusively reveal the Australian government is commencing an inquiry into the adoption program, with an initial report due at the end of the year, after South Korea released damning findings last year following its own three-year investigation.
