In short:

Melbourne property investor Adrian Portelli has appeared in an Adelaide court, where he pleaded not guilty to 19 charges relating to allegations he was running "unlawful lotteries in South Australia".

The prosecution said the charges related to "some of the giveaways conducted by" his company.

Speaking outside court, Mr Portelli said the case against him arose because "someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed".
